Diving Into Paradise (Literally) with Sandals

Sandals & Beaches at the Denver Travel & Adventure Show

At the Denver Travel & Adventure Show this April, I had the opportunity to partner directly with Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts - and if you’ve ever wondered what a truly all-inclusive Caribbean vacation looks like … this is it.

This is the kind of trip where you can fully unplug, settle in, and actually relax - because everything is already handled.

What “All-Inclusive” Really Means Here

At Sandals, all-inclusive isn’t just a buzzword - it’s a completely seamless, luxury all-inclusive experience in the Caribbean. Here’s what that actually includes:

  • Gourmet dining at multiple specialty restaurants

  • Premium liquors and wines (and rum bars on select properties!)

  • Land and water sports (yes, really included)

  • Championship golf at select resorts

  • Snorkeling trips and non-motorized water sports

  • Roundtrip airport transfers

  • Tips, taxes, and gratuities

No surprise charges.
No constant signing of receipts.
No high-pressure sales pitches - it’s simply not part of the experience here.

Just vacation mode - fully activated.

And if you’re traveling with family, Beaches Resorts offers that same seamless experience, with added perks like waterparks, kids programs, and activities for every age.

I had the chance to connect with Craig (pictured above) and asked for his perspective as well.  Here’s what he shared with me:

“In my experience, few all-inclusive resorts can truly be compared to Sandals Resorts International and Beaches Resorts. Having worked at several other all-inclusive properties, I have found that they often fall short of delivering the same comprehensive experience. When Sandals and Beaches describe their offerings as “all-inclusive,” they genuinely mean it - covering airport transfers, a wide range of dining options (typically 8 to 12 restaurants per resort), and numerous activities without additional charges.

Guests are not expected to tip, which allows them to fully relax and enjoy their vacation without the need to carry a wallet. In my opinion, Sandals and Beaches distinguish themselves through an exceptional commitment to customer service, consistently delivering a level of hospitality that sets them apart within the industry.”

Let’s Talk About the Scuba Diving

If you’re even slightly interested in diving, this is where Sandals truly stands out. And this is where having the right resort recommendation really matters.

They offer one of the most comprehensive scuba diving programs in the Caribbean - and for certified divers, it’s included. Here’s what that actually looks like:

  • 2-tanks of air on scheduled and guided dives

  • Access to dedicated dive boats and aqua centers

  • Top-of-the-line equipment

  • Guided dives with PADI-certified professionals

  • Up to 30 dive sites per resort

  • Options for wreck dives and night dives (additional cost)

And yes - if you’re not certified yet, you can:

  • Try a Discover Scuba experience (about 3 hours)

  • Or complete your PADI certification right on property

Translation: You can go from “I’ve always wanted to try this” to actually diving in the Caribbean - all in one trip.

Imagine taking a giant stride into warm, crystal-clear Caribbean water … spotting a sea turtle just below you, completely unbothered by your presence.

That’s not a once-in-a-lifetime excursion here - that’s just a Tuesday.

Where You Dive Matters 🌊

One of the things I enjoy most about planning Caribbean scuba diving vacations is that each island offers something completely different. Melissa, National Manager of Dive Sales also pictured above), who has dived at every Sandals and Beaches resort, shared insights on her favorite marine life encounters:

  • Jamaica – coral reefs, turtles, rays, and ideal beginner dive sites

  • Bahamas & Turks and Caicos – known for shark sightings

  • Grenada – incredible wreck diving

  • Antigua – larger marine life

  • Saint Vincent – “critter capital” with seahorses, eels, and even the occasional humpback whale

  • Barbados – turtles, lobsters, and in winter manta rays

  • Curaçao – calm, clear water that feels like diving in an aquarium

  • Saint Lucia – a little bit of everything, including shallow reefs and seahorses

Each island brings its own personality underwater - which is why choosing the right destination matters just as much as choosing the right resort.

A Few Things to Know Before You Dive

Before you jump in, there are a few helpful things to know:

  • You’ll need to complete a medical questionnaire

  • If your last dive was over 6 months ago, the resort team will ask you to complete a quick check-out dive prior to getting on the dive boat (It's complimentary, to ensure you're comfortable with gear, signals, and basic safety skills.)

  • If your last dive was over 18 months since your last dive, you will need to complete the Refresher. You can do this through your local dive shop or at your resort

  • Certified divers should bring their certification card

  • Depths typically range from 20 to 100 feet

  • Discover Scuba Diving divers have a max depth of 40 feet

And of course - I walk my clients through all of this, step by step, so there are no surprises along the way.

Why This Is Better With a Travel Advisor

Sandals Resorts are incredible on their own - but where I come in is helping you choose the right island, the right resort, and even the right side of the resort based on what you want your days to look like.

Diving in Curaçao feels completely different than diving in Saint Vincent. Some resorts are better for first-time divers, while others are ideal if you’re chasing wreck dives or marine life.

This is where I help you get it right the first time - so your trip isn’t just good … it’s exactly what you were hoping for.

Why I Recommend Sandals to My Clients

At the end of the day, this is what I’m always looking for when I recommend a vacation:

✔️ It’s seamless
✔️ It’s high quality
✔️ It actually delivers on what it promises

Sandals does that exceptionally well - especially for travelers looking for a stress-free luxury Caribbean vacation without constant decision-making after arrival.

Add in the scuba program, and it becomes something even more meaningful - not just a trip, but an experience.
